Drifting

This is a collection put together for my mother which I've called Drifting...

After Darkness Falls - Written as a lullaby for my daughter.

Doodles - This one came about from just doodling musically.

Down Town Deep Space - I wrote this one whilst at college, we were challenged to write a piece using a sharpened 4th chord.  I definitely need to get some better drum samples for this!

Riding The Waves - Originally written for the electric guitar, whilst at college, and designed to show various techniques available to guitarists.  This acoustic arrangement was done for my fathers funeral.

Rise Of The Dog Soldiers - Written whilst practising alternating bass lines.

Swimming In The Deep Blue - Written many years ago whilst experimenting with extended chords and finger picking.

The Dawn Chase - Another piece written whilst at college, this was one of my exam pieces and features a friend on saxophone.

To Touch Angels Wings - Another example of doodling about.

Why?

Hiya, thanks for checking out my blog.

Introduction

I've been playing guitar since I was 15 and since then have played in numerous bands and projects, including playing professionally when I was 20.  Over the years I've written lots of music ranging from Heavy Rock to Blues and Alternative folky acoustic stuff however I've never really thought to record any of it, to be honest I never thought it was good enough.

Sadly I recently lost my father to cancer and my mother asked me to record some of my music for the funeral so armed with a Zoom R8 multi-track recorder I did just that.

So after some nice, possibly just polite, compliments I have decided to share my music with the world...

(I must apologise as the music player requires Flash so you might not be able to hear them on phones.  I will work on getting this issue sorted out at some point)
